Electronics Recycling

 

Technology changes almost every day, leaving you with obsolete electronics. Most electronics contain hazardous components and require proper disposal. The Distrct offers electronics recycling every week at all Recycling Centers for most electronics items.

EFFECTIVE April 1st, 2016:

TVs, computers monitors, laptop computers and other items with a screen recycled at the Monroe County Waste Management District will cost $20 per item to recycle. And, these items will only be accepted at the South Walnut Recycling Center. However, all other electronics are still FREE of charge and will continue to be accepted at ALL District facilities.

Electronics without a screen are accepted FREE every week at ALL Recycling Centers.
Those with a screen are only accepted at the South Walnut Recycling Center.

NOTE: A $20 fee per item applies for items WITH A SCREEN.

We accept any item that requires an electrical cord or a battery to operate.

FREE Electronics Recycling includes: cell phone, telephone, fan, radio, curling iron, hair dryer, power tool, speaker, calculator, toaster, toaster oven, computer mouse, keyboard, coffee maker, countertop appliances, among other electronic devices.

NOTICE: The popularity of our free E-waste program has exceeded our expectations. Due to our recycling costs and storage space at our rural recycling centers, we encourage those eligible Monroe County community members with larger quantities of E-waste to bring them to the South Walnut Recycling Center.
